Missy Foard started her legal career doing insurance defense work. After several years of attending mediations and hearing about the impact of financial strain and its impact on marriages, Missy switched gears and began practicing family law at SeiferFlatow.

Missy Foard is a partner at SeiferFlatow, PLLC, and her practice focuses on family law. Missy’s mission is to help confidently guide people through challenging situations involving divorce, custody, and family law.

Representative Case: Child Custody and Relocation

Missy received a favorable ruling from the judge in a case where her client wanted to relocate to another state with his child. The child had been living in North Carolina with the other parent for years and had only recently been able to form a relationship with my client for reasons outside his control. Missy was able to show the judge why it was in the child's best interest for primary legal and physical custody to be granted to her client, and the relocation was approved by the court.

In her free time, Missy enjoys reading, running, tennis, and exploring Charlotte and all it has to offer with her husband, two sons, and two dogs. As a PA native, Missy is an avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers, though she has quickly grown to consider the Panthers “her” team, as well.
Education
Missy Foard attended Gettysburg College and Campbell Law School. After graduating from law school in Raleigh, Missy moved to the Queen City and has never looked back.

Missy is admitted to the state of North Carolina Bar.
